This project was originally developed by Orenda with $2.7m in Equity Financing and $11.1m in a Commercial Bank Loan. In December 2024, Convergent acquired 100% of the East Gun Hill Road assets.

Overview

The East Gun Hill Road project is a 5 MW / 20 MWh grid-connected lithium-ion battery system located in the Bronx.

In mid-2023, OSCII Gun Hill, LLC - a special-purpose entity owned by Orenda Sky Capital II (a joint venture of Orenda and North Sky Capital) - submitted its NYCIDA “Core Application" with construction projected to start in Q4 2023 with The project entailed a 5 MW / 20 MWh battery energy storage system on leased land at 1352 East Gun Hill operations by summer 2024 and a total cost estimated at ~$13.9 million.

In a follow-up NYCIDA filing dated Nov 14, 2024, OSCII sought public financing assistance reaffirming project specs and revealing that OSCII “will become a wholly‑owned, indirect subsidiary of Convergent Energy and Power LP", indicating plans for an acquisition of the site and its assets prior to commercial commissioning.

As of July 2025, East Gun Hill Road has received final construction sign-off and is nearing completion.

Lacerra Realty Corp signed a lease agreement with OSCII Gun Hill LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Convergent, in November 2020.
